Engine Identification and parts

So I just found out (thanks to the guys on this site) that the 69 olds cutlass im restoring actually has an engine that is a 77-80 olds 350, according to the casting number. My general question for anyone who can help is.. when I go to order parts for the engine, most sites ask for the make and model then the engine size.. i.e. 69 olds cutlass supreme 350... With the engine being listed as 77-80, what do you do when ordering?

THanks all

For engine parts, use the reference for 77 Cutlass with the appropriate 2 or 4 bbl carb.

eg: 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass S with 350 CID 2bbl. (I believe the 2bbl and 4bbl's had different cams, just not 100% on that)

Unfortunately, it depends. Internal engine parts - get the 77-80 parts. External parts depend on what was used in the swap. For example, if the accessory brackets and pulleys are the 69 parts bolted to the later motor, get belts and water pump for a 69. Motor mounts are definitely the ones for a 69. The good news is that with a few exceptions, the parts will be the same anyway.
