Original Radiator? Please Help
I am looking over the radiator in my 69 442 and took down some numbers that I was hoping someone could shed some light on.
Harrison (stamped on passenger side)
Number on small stamped tag on passenger side: 052550
McCarran Radiator Service Tag (assuming it was flushed in NV once)
028194
From the looks of it being a Harrison and a 4 core I am hoping it is original and worth restoring.
thanks
Sean

I can't speak to the numbers but mine which was original had similar markings. Unfortunately the tank on mine had a hole in it and I replaced with whatever 4 core NAPA sold back then (1986). I'm guessing today a guy would try to have that braised or something but back then if you couldn't re core it they considered it junk. Yours sounds original and I would say it is worth restoring.

Hi Sean
If it is the original 4 row yes it would be well worth re-coring and keeping with the car. There's a few different numbers that came on the radiators, the first is a tag that was probably tossed when they last worked on it. Here's an example of the tag if its there.

But there's also letters/numbers pressed into the tanks, not as easy to see as the Harrison name, but here's a couple pictures of what to look for. If you can find these codes in the tank there may be members here who can help you verify if its the original one.

Hello, The correct tag code for you Rad would be "ED" if your car had less than 3:91 gears and if you had 3:91 gears or higher numerically it would be "EC" The Tag will tell you what the tank code's are for each side. The Driver side will be "IF" in all cases and the passenger side will vary depending on if the Rad Tag is "EC" or "ED". I Believe it is "CI" if it is a "ED" tag. They are very hard to come by, and well worth restoring, but as mentioned earlier expect to spend about $500.
