442 Trumpet Tips?

What size did the original trumpet tips come in? 2" or 2.5"? I have the 442 bumper with the cutouts for the tips and want to be sure the 2.5" will work ok before I purchase them...

Trumpets

Orginal exhaust pipes were two inch, they expanded tailpipe to insert tip.

2.5 inch will work,I have a 2.5 inch exhaust with Pypes trumpet tips.

Here are some pics.I didn't install factory clamps,I opted for clamps that Pypes sell.

Hope this helps.

I'm looking at the pypes trumpets right now for my car. By chance would a 3inch possibly work through the cutouts as well?

The stainless band-style clamps are now available from Walker and even NAPA. The ones NAPA sells are only designed for butt joints (both pipes the same diameter). Walker sells both kinds, straight ones for butt joints and stepped ones for joints where one pipe slips inside the other.

This is all I use anymore. The pipes aren't distorted by the normal U bolts and you can disassemble them to your heart's content.

Trumpet tips with mfg logo

Who sells an exhaust trumpet tip without the logo...like Pypes does.
I just received my tips from Pypes yesterday and plan to return them tomorrow. I see Fusick has one but for a 2" pipe.
Has anyone else found something out there?

I assume you are asking for non-logo trumpets that are larger than the OEM 2". I don't know if anyone sells these without logos, but the Pypes logo is simply etched and their trumpets are stainless, so a little sanding and polishing and the logo is gone.
