Electric choke wiring help
I'm ready to convert from hot air choke to electric choke on my quadrajet and I need help on what's the best place to get my power from.. I know it needs to be 12V but what do you guys recommend I get power from...

Thanks, MD...lots of good info. And exactly what I'm trying to do just one small problem my oil pressure switch only has one prawn coming out of it.. And it works just how Joe explained it. It only get power when the car is running. My question is can I just tee of this wire or should I follow it and try to tee of where this wire is coming from

Once you get the prawn out of it, you need to do what Joe suggested in the first post of the thread I linked to, and get a Standard PS64 switch.
Simply using a switched power source, especially one that is hot in the ACC position, will cause the choke to open prematurely if the key is on but the engine is not running.
GM used... an oil pressure switch in the power line to the choke. This way, the choke doesn't start to heat up until the engine is running and there is oil pressure.
I like to use the Standard P/N PS64 switch.
The middle terminal works the OIL light, the other two are a normally open switch that closes with oil pressure. Use these to control the choke.
If you have an oil pressure gauge instead of a light, simply use a brass tee fitting to connect both this switch and your oil pressure sender.

I think I might have prawns for diner tonight
