Bought my old 70 442 back from 8 years ago
Recently got a phone call and heard my old car was up forsale.
So i recently sold the 70 cutlass S i had to go check it out and made a deal.
Here is the car before when i ownedit about 8 years ago and here it is now.
before
personally i like the red the way i originally did it.
but itdont look too bad has a bunch of new scratches touched up of course. so i bought it back for nostalgic reasons.

Congrats on being able to get your old ride back. I agree with you, I like the red stripe better too. I wouldn't mind being able to get back 1 or 2 cars I got rid of to over the years too.

Thanks guys!!!
Yeah it felt really good driving it back from Mt kisco N.Y. back to longisland.
The car is actually well known here on longisland.
There was a guy named chet that raced it up and down the turnpike
in the 80's with his kids in the back seat.
Then it sat for 20 some odd years until it went on ebay one day and i picked it up and had it repainted and did the seats etc... The rear seat is original so is the headliner, carpet and dash.
When i bought the car the motor was apart i never knew why.
So i put the intake back on and it ran nice ever since.
has the turbo 400 trani with 3:23 posi rear.
he must have found the partial build sheet i just found in a book he gave me

Cool story. Glad to see you got your car back too. I just recently bought my w30 back that I sold in 2003. It is a great feeling and once you put it back in your garage, its like it never left. Congratulations!

Wow that's about the same amount of time mine was 2004 when i sold it.

Congrats, my question is did you pay more or less than when you sold it?
Well they wanted 10k more than i sold it for but it just was not worth that kind of money.
I paid $500 more than i originally sold it.
They did a few things to it:
The rear package tray, factoryam/fm ,one wheel wheel trim, trim on dash replaced, factory spare and tire replaced.new AC compressor, new alternator, new arm rest chrome, console liner, brake pedal pad, brake booster, lower ac vents, and they found a partial build sheet.
not bad for 8 years later a few stress cracks and scratches too came with the deal. I'm Happy
<sigh> I wish I had the Fury back.

That car has been black for over30 years. Something must have happen when it was fairly new

That is really aweseome. I bought a vehicle back after selling it to finance a family move. It was awesome. Many of us hunt and hunt and or build a car to be like one we once had. It is exciting to know someone has found that one they once had and is enjoying it.
My thoughts on the red on black. Make the car how you want it. Nobody else's opinion matters. It is your car.
Hope you enjoy it for many years.
