Okay, so this guy posts once and only once, in July of 2010.
He gets 2 wise-a$$ replies in November of 2010.
You must have e-mailed him, because you ask in a new thread about shipping weights in December of 2010.

Now it's December of 2012.

Are you sure it didn't get lost in the mail?

Or did he get tired of waiting 2 years and find another buyer?

Well I am going to modify your thread title and comments to be a little more objective. We don't want to cross the line about flaming as I am sure he would have some choice words for you in reply and the next thing we have is a p*ss*ng contest and the thread gets closed and people get warnings and.................you get it.

Hello Jason,

This is to follow up on your call regarding item 280599065732 Oldsmobile
Rocket 350 Engine purchased from seller jjenkins.2008.

We tried to reach out to the seller a couple of times, unfortunately
they are still unresponsive. I escalated the case to our back office
team so that they can help us intermediate and so that we can closely
monitor seller's activity on the site.

You can also report this situation to the Internet Crime Complaint
Center (IC3). This is especially useful in cases like yours where the
seller lost contact with you when he is obliged to send you the
replcement of the item you purchased. I would also advise you to file a
complaint to the Internet Crime Complaint Center. Just click the link
below to do so.

http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

The IC3 reviews and evaluates complaints, and then refers information to
the appropriate local, state, or federal agency. Every complaint that is
referred by the IC3 is sent to one or more law enforcement or regulatory
agencies that have jurisdiction over the matter.

Jason, the best thing to do at this point is to file a report with a
group called econsumer.gov since dependablephones is from USA. This
organization, econsumer.gov, is a multinational effort set up to deal
with cross-border trading incidents. They have information on ways to
resolve your problem and possibly get your money back.

They can also help you file a complaint that will forward information
about your situation to consumer protection agencies in more than 20
countries around the world. Filing a report may help law enforcement
spot new trends in Internet crime and possibly prevent others from
having similar problems.

Here are the steps in filing a report:

1.) Go to: http://www.econsumer.gov/english/
2.) Click "Report your Complaint!"
3.) Read the information provided.
4.) Click the "Complaint Form" button

If you would like to contact the Trust and Safety team with additional
information about the account you are reporting, or any other site
violations, please check our online help system first. Here you can find
the answers to most questions. Once there, if you still can't find the
answer you need, click the 'Contact Us' links located throughout the
help system.

I am confident that I have helped you today with the information I have
provided. May your future transactions run smoothly. If you need
anything else, please do not hesitate to contact us. It makes me feel
proud that I have served a valued member like you. Thank you for
choosing eBay. Have a great day and take care always!

Warm regards,

Berna L.

So, did you buy this over eBay, or by contacting him through this site?

If the latter, then I can't see how eBay complaints could have anything to do with it.

In either case, when did you give him the money? The eBay auction cited in the letter doesn't come up in a search.

Also, that letter says absolutely nothing, other than that they'll "keep an eye on him," which is about the same as saying that they're filing it in the round file.

I hate to see people get taken advantage of, but after two years, it would seem to me there are a lot of possible variables, and certainly two sides to the story. jjenkins.2008 has 47 positive feedbacks and no negative feedbacks on E-bay. Aussie, what's your E-bay ID? Would you care to give a timeline of what happened from your perspective? It's unfortunate that you had a bad experience, but with the limited amount of information, fair-minded people will want more details, otherwise it's just an accusation by a guy with nine posts of a guy with one post who has excellent feedback on E-bay.

Good point. As a seller, his feedback goes back to April of 2009, all good.

Where is his bad feedback from the OP?

And I agree - nice work, Copper. Maybe the OP can call him up now and work it out.

I can understand making it a hobby to be someone's worst enemy and making their life miserable till the end of time if they went out of their way to screw me. Just saying...

I suppose, but I've also seen, I think it was here, some guy who felt, incorrectly IMO, that he had been wronged by a member, so he waited in the shadows for over a year, until he could find a way to stick it to the member...even though the member hadn't done anything wrong. I'm not making a judgement in this case, just going by the facts as we know them. But the facts thus far are not really in Aussie's favor, which is why I'd like to know more.

But I will agree, if someone really does screw you, there's no reason not to haunt them 'til the end of time. If this is really what happened and you want to garner support, the evidence will make a solid case on your behalf.

Some people really do get screwed by someone, they do everything by the book, and they end up being taken advantage of. If you'd post more details, such as a timeline of what happened, your E-bay ID, it would help fair-minded people to understand better what's going on.

And FWIW, you CAN contact this individual on E-bay, you can send a PM right through the site. Have you tried this? Maybe let him know there's a conversation going on here that relates to your dispute with him?

Kudos for your tenacity, Aussie. Once took me over a year to get money back from a thief. DO try the Internet Fraud Complaint Center...last guy who tried ripping me off sent my money back within a day of a policeman knocking on his door. It took that year+ I mentioned for that to happen, but well worth it when the policeman called ME to tell me I'd have my money shortly (and dang if I didn't).

It may have been a while for you...I for one would NEVER give up if I got ripped off online.

i will try the fraud center again, i didnt hear a reply from them, probably got lost as they apparantly have thousands of complaints a day cheers, my ebay is becjas i dont use ebay often, i dont have exatct dates without going through all my emails , basicaly i paid for engine straight away , organised a shipper straight away , originaly the engine was picked up , but then returned a week later as my original shipper was hopeless and tried to send it through dhl express wich would of cost him thousands , after approx a month or so of trying to contact jjenkins (jeff) to see the engine was returned , he eventually said it was. so i organised another shipper , thats when jeff started stuffing that shipper around , he turned up at lesst five times to pick the engine up , but jeff was no where to be found ,and didnt answer his phone, apparently he was fired from the workplace, my shipper then eventually got an alternate phone number from his old boss, which he answered on that phone, and again he kept stuffing my shipper around, approx july this year is when i learnt that jeff had in fact sold it to someone else earlier this year. so my 69 cutless s has been sitting for two years without a heart.lol

Sounds like he stole your money. I agree that the IC3 might be able to help you - seems like a straightforward case. You'll need concrete information, like dates, though.

By the way... becjas: "No profiles match the member name or info you entered."

I had a guy in Marietta, GA fail to ship a plasma cutter i bought from him on flea bay... after 6 weeks of no answers I headed to GA with a load on my flatbed. I got MT Thursday PM, called him and left a message telling him I would be at his doorstep Friday noon.

Noon Friday I pulled my Peterbilt across his driveway blocking a F350 from leaving the property. Then I called again and told him I had a weeks worth of food and water and wasn't leaving until I got my cutter. An hour later a HUGE dude came out and told me his brother told him to let me in to get my plasma cutter... I left a happy man.

One more thing... I called the local sheriff to let him know what I was doing. He assured me that the sheriff's dept. would assist me in any way they could if trouble broke out... just call 911. And then I spoke with the local DA and he told me if I didn't get my stuff they would file charges against the loser... nice people in GA.
