Protective Car Cover Opinions
Protective Car Cover Opinions
Alright I've been looking into getting a protective car cover the the 71. The sun out here is brutal and at the moment I have no inside storage for the car.
So I keep her washed and waxed plus use windshield reflectors front and back. (tinted windows will happen if I can find an intelligent business to do it) When I leave for 8-10mths next year I'm looking at options to protect the car including storage but CA storage businesses are off their rockers for pricing units or parking spots without climate control. What have you guys used and recommend? I've seen the CA Car Covers but how do they fit and stay with the vehicle have a rear spoiler?
Thanks
Magna

I'm not sure how broad your search has been for indoor facilities, but for 8-10 months I'd be willing to drive my car a few hours away to another city if it came to that. Some may find that extreme, but it looks like you have a nice car per the pic in your signature.
In regard to California Car Covers, I love the one I have. Unless your spoiler is non-factory style, I believe the cover for a 71 Cutlass/442 coupe (trim) has already been considered in their fit. You can verify with a simple call to their 800 number. Keep in mind these covers are pricy - $200 and up. But, they are among the elite on the market.

Magna, my car does'nt have a rear spoiler. With that said, I would'nt hesitate to suggest a California car cover. I like mine, fits good. Its their "storm weave" under 200 bucks. You might look into the "superweave or ultraweave" line for the time duration your'e asking about.
I have no problem leaving it outside with my choice of cover, but I don't leave it out as much as you might. And if security is a problem, you can order a cable and lock to prevent it from being stolen. Well..the cover, that is.
