I'd love to go to that! My car will be in a hundred pieces by then though. Didn't one of those futurliners go for a couple million at BJ a couple years ago? Wonder how many of them were made. I would think they will have a big turnout. Nice to see the sponsorship that will also be there.

i have my fingers crossed. i have the time scheduled off from work but it is a matter of if i have enough money after the Jetfire build. maybe i could bring some parts to sell to help pay for the trip.

I went to one several years ago, when we had somewhat of a Detroit area imprompto Oldsmobile club. Dont remember it being much of a deal with big name sponsers though. Really just several Oldsmobiles parked in the lot, with a few guys selling used parts. Was pretty cool though, and made some friends, as my trunk was packed with snacks and Cokes. Worked well, as my car has a remote alarm, with doors and trunk.

Already signed up for the show. My buddy and I were the first to already book at the host hotel near the show. Loved this show last year (and all the activities) and can't wait to go back!

I went to the first one and have only missed a couple total, and it was never really a small meet.

Unless you consider nearly 500 cars an 90+ vendor spots filled to be "several Oldsmobiles parked in the lot, with a few guys selling used parts", then you were not at a Homecoming meet.

I started going in 1995. Only one I can remember that had a smaller than normal turn out was when they had it in the Delta? Engine plant parking lot. Lately its been huge though. Last years swap was the biggest Ive seen.
My old man has the honor of winning the last BOC trophy given for the 64-67 performance class. He left early because it was 100 degrees and they mailed it to him. How cool is that.

Two of us leaving early Thursday from Dallas, meeting one from Lubbock in Ok City, then 3 others in Joplin, MO to head on up for arrival by Friday at 4'ish to run on over to Dimondale for the Friday night festivities. We will leave Sunday AM and drive to Abrurn, IN to tour the Museum there, then on to Brown County State Park (Indiana) until Thursday AM and head 20 miles down the road to the National Antique Oldsmobile Club's Nationals. What a week. The girls will leave the same Thursday we do from Spiro, OK, together in a Suburban to make several shopping stops on the way up, and meet us at BCSP. Cannot wait. I will be in the Silver Bullet. A '36 4 door, '49 modified slope back, a '72 VC will also be in our group. Lot'sa diesel pickups pulling trailers, although I will be driving the SB with new 4 wheel discs and a working dual A/C system, plus a 700 OD TM. Yippee!

I really hope to meet a lot of you guys this time. Last year I was so mesmerized by all the Oldsmobiles and the swap area that I didn't get a chance to do much introducing. TK-65, I saw your car but the seats behind were empty when I went by.. What are you bringing this time?

Just looked up the paperwork, and it was Homecoming 00'. Lansing MI at. Power Train Plant 5, 2901 S Canal St. Bunch of us caravaned up there from a Detroit area Meijer parking lot. Didn't attend any parades or such, just a one day trip to the parking lot. Guess after going to the Detroit area Woodward Dream cruise every year, most other events, seem kind of small.
The night before and evening after events are fairly new (only one or two years old). The Alero Chapter has had their show for (I think) 5 years now. The best thing to do is show up Friday early afternoon and tour the RE Olds Transportation Museum, then go check out the Aleros, then go to the Dimondale event, then on Saturday go the Homecoming and then to the Eaton Rapids event afterwards. That's a lot of fun for one Oldsmobile!

Geez most people last year thought I was from "Timbucktoo" when I told them I drove the car the entire way there from 1hr north of Toronto. haha

Good point Pat. Correct me if I am wrong, but at least one of those years there was not a Homecoming due to having the Nationals there.

There will not be classes again this year. I like it that way better, because then I can park with people I know and we can have lunch, etc all together by our cars. I also like walking around looking at the cars and not knowing what to expect. Really, unless you need to compare cars, without judging there really isn't a need for parking by class.

I don't think there is specifically a real "host" hotel in the sense that the show is right outside in its parking lot. Three hotels are listed on the registration form, and all of them are referred to as host hotels:
http://www.reolds.org/images/2012RegHotelForm.pdf
All of them, though, are at least 2 miles from the show site.

Hey all,
I'm 50/50 on going to the show a few things to hammer out before hand.
I'm thinking of leaving early Friday morning and rolling in Fri evening 700+miles from here to there.
1) anyone from NJ or area heading up that way around that time frame?
2) to those of you who live up that way, what's the weather like up there?
3) any good/bad routes to take or avoid?
thanks..........

Stays light until 9:30 or so. Weather is just like here. Could be hot and humid, could be a nice day, could be really bad thunderstorms like one year (it was pretty bad)
I usually take 76 to 80, and take 75 in Ohio. Google maps always tells you to take 280 thur Toledo, but the bridge has been under construction for years now.
This year I'm thinking of takeing 80 to IN and jumping on 69 up to Lansing. Still haven't decieded yet
Somehow I alwyas end up on US 23 south going home

I suggest I-80 to US-23 north into Michigan then I-96 West over to Lansing.
As far as the weather, well we have had middle 50's rainy and 90's and humid! Your call on what to wear.
You may not want to use tire dressing, there is a stand of Cottonwood trees near by, if there is any kinda of breeze out the west or northwest, you will have fuzzy tires.

It was very odd having cars all over the place but after a bit I too really liked it, never knew what was coning next. It made for finding the same car twice almost impossible but it did make it feel more like a car show and less like a who's car is better contest
