2012 Oldsmobile Homecoming
Agreed on the loudspeaker. It was too much too often.
I still don't get why we weren't on the grass, makes it so much nicer, especially on a hot day.
The free for all parking was okay with me, was nice to just wander, but I have to say, I do like them grouped by classes...
I still think a popular vote on some fun categories would be cool.

Great show the local chapter puts on every year! That is a lot of work those guys take on year after year. With over 500 cars and a large swap meet all in one parking lot is very nice. Yea the pavement can be hot, but the grass can be muddy if it rains. They are doing something right, the show keeps growing every year. Thanks to all who work to put on the show.

It was my first Homecoming and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I did walk every row, and I liked all of the cars. I have previously owned a '68 Toronado & a '79 88, and my son has a '97 Aurora, so I can appreciate all of the generations.
I parked my '71 442 next to a friend with an '80s 442. I like the fact that the classes were mixed as it made walking each row interesting. It would seem simple to offer both class parking and non class parking with pre-registration. For the folks that do not pre-register, class parking would be availble only until the class areas are full.
I thought that the swap meet was great! I got the parts I needed for a fraction of their repro cost.
And yes, the PA volume could have been reduced a little, but I did not mind it terribly.
I will be back for sure. Well done!

I loved the turn out!!! I'm so glad that it's growing and the rising cost of fuel didn't scare a lot of people away. Parking just "where ever" was a little confusing, but it was kind of neat to see a little change. I agree with some of the posts before hand, I think parking perhaps not by model class, but more by generation. At least then there is some uniformity. I look forward to this event every year! I've attened everyone since 1996. Thanks to everyone who keeps it going!
I agree with this. I brought a 70 W-30 and came with friends who drove a 67 W-30 and a 68 W-30. Next year we may have a 70 Pace Car and a 70 W-31 with us. I like being able to park with them and hang out. I have no interest in setting up the show by classes. It is small enough to walk the whole thing and see all of the cars.
I also agree on the PA. If it was only used for announcements that would be great.

Follow this link to my photo album for the 2012 Olds Homecoming show last saturday. There were 587 Olds registered. Saw a few old friends and made a bunch of new ones. Good to put a face to some names out here. Especially enjoyed the chit-chat with Jim Klimp and Al Holben!!
