are the power window setups the same between the Cutlass S, Supreme, and convertible cars for 70-72? also, do they fit 69?

 

What do you mean by set up? The glass?

 

the regulators and lift parts. i know the back side glass is differant.

 

Yes and yes, though the switches are different 70 is rounded bevels vs the 71 and later squared. I thought the 69 and earlier switches were hydraulic while 70 and up are electric, that's what made 70 so hard to find, same look as 69 and earlier but first year of electric

 

69 front regs are 69 only, they have an extra arm that stabilizes the glass...

68-72 1/4 regs are the same
70-72 front regs are the same
no difference in convert or hardtop...
69-70 switches are pretty much the same and 71-2 are the same..
wiring is a little different here and there, but works..

hydraulic windows? thats fifties stuff...its all electric

probably have the power locks confused..69 back are pneumatic/vacuum actuated

70 up power locks are electric...

Not saying you're wrong, but maybe just a little. I just removed a complete power window set up-wiring, switches, regulators, motors, etc.. from a '69 Cutlass & they are electric. Pretty sure none of these power window systems were ever hydraulic. I think you may mean pneumatic(air/vacuum) instead of hydraulic? I believe the '69 & earlier power lock systems were pneumatic & you are right about the 1970 power lock switches being a one year only item. The '70 lock switch & power window switches have the rounded corners & is the first year for electric locks, then in '71, all the switches changed to the squared off corners. The vacuum power lock switches have small vacuum ports on them & are easy to distinguish from the electric ones. Not trying to be a know it all, just expanding on what you stated.

 

No I'm wrong I meant pneumatic and I thought for sure it was the windows and locks, didn't realize it was only the locks. I thought for sure 70 was the first year electric but I've been wrong before, I completely forgot about the 69 front reg being different, good thing for smarter folks than I.

I try not to respond unless I am 100% sure but sometimes I jump in too quick, I'm always concerned that one day someone will make a purchase based on my answer and if I'm wrong I'll feel bad I have made numerous purchases on here and on ebay for parts that more than one person insisted were correct only for me to find out after I get it that the part was not for my application. UGH
