Hey All! I was working on my 72 cutlass 4 door today and i took the seats out and i found what appear to be hand written broadcast sheets. I usually see this info on the preprinted forms so this was weird for me. Just wondering if anyone had come across this before?

its actually a Body By Fisher linemans cheat sheet...it only has info pertenant to the BODY, and is very common..

Ive found as many as 3 to a car, in different hand writing...and in different plants theres different paper..in Arlington cars it looks like an od cash register receipt and is 8-10 inches long...the line man would scribble the important info he needed..and i always find them under the drivers seats it seems...its interior, trans codes a/c codes, it tells them how to pierce the body or which firewall it needs..

 

I found one of those under the back seat of my 71 SX. It was also an Arlington car. No other broadcast or build sheets. Seems all kind of primitive today.

 

Ok I guess is more the norm than unusual. I thought it was weird but i have never found a build sheet or broadcast sheet before, till this car. Thanks for the info guys!

of course you found it..its a 4 door..lol...never find them in the cool cars....

 

found some in my 70 CS.-1 in backseat and 2 in each front seat- it may be common, but still pretty cool
They were filled in by hand on a "Continuous Interfold" sheet and has SOFT TRIM BROADCAST at the top- car is a Freemont Ca car

 

ive had a few of those too..the soft trim thing, any of the documentation you can find is very cool...

 

I worked at the Framingham GM palnt in 1972, and those sheets were to help the workers put in the right options.

They also helped with inventory control at the line, so the right parts would be at the line at the right time.

 

I think ALL oldsmobiles are "cool cars" thats why i have been a olds fan for 30 years, and a member of Classic Oldsmobile
