Has anyone else noticed that?

One example but I've seen quite a few others.

BTW, if this car is still available price has to be pretty negotiable by now.

This sometimes happens when newcomers are still getting used to the look, feel, and function of the site. If you do a SEARCH, it is easy to get a lot of threads that are relevant but are old. I catch myself replying to some this way.
Also i have heard that the left-side column (withthe avitar) do not appear on some mobile devices. Not sure if the post date is affected, since it is on a different line. I do not have a mobile, so I cannot confirm that.

Adding extra useful info to an old thread is fine. However, old sale ads may not be of much use and is discouraged. Too bad we cannot make them expire and disappear after a few months or so. One of the Ford forums I am on expire the ads. Maybe I should just go in and do a blanket dump of anything over a year old...

I asked one of the moderators if it was possible to have an automatic lock come into place after say two years thus stopping these from popping up because their locked.
I never heard back but it looks like it didn't happen.
Now would be a good time to implement something like this or we can keep rereading the same threads.

Whats wrong with reading an old thread if new info has been added?

It's a noob thing. A regular member always chimes in and tells them to pay attention, and it usually stops.

If there is a repeat offender who doesn't "get it" after a little while, We may take action, but it's normally an honest mistake.

x2

Or does it create some kind of hassle for the moderator? Bad etiquette?

In case this was missed...

No issues for mods, no bad etiquette if added info is useful.

I think it's great if some information can be added. I can't count the times I've been searching for something (not necessarily on this forum) and think I've found what I need, and the thread just ends. No outcome posted by the original poster, no resolution to the problem.

yes, I'm sure many times it is out of pure excitement someone finds info they are searching for and replies, I have done it as well.

I also think
1) OLD THREADS - can be and should be allowed to be brought up as others have noted many times there are updates or additional questions related to the same topic. Again I have done that many times

2) FOR SALE ADS - Those could be locked after a while but I do not think they should be deleted, great refrence for how much something was sold for or even when the last time an item sold ( great for referencing rare parts)

Not airing a grievance, just something I noticed.

And here all along I thought it was decomposing gases forming underneath all those organic threads...
