What year? And no. They never came from the factory with anything more than a 120. I think a few years of the GTO might have come with a 140 and I know some early corvettes came with a 160 and of course the later ones have 200 mph speedos, but no Cutlass-F85-442-H/O ever had anything more than a 120.

This is asked every now and then, it is actually a 160 KPH speedo that was used for Canadian and export cars, it is pretty cool looking but again its not in MPH.

But you could re-gear the speedo drive and have a 160mph speedo that says KPH at the bottom.

It's funny this came up, I'm actually the one who purchased that speedometer online. Well, in all actuality it was my ex-girlfriend. Still have it. Never installed it. I'll grab a couple of pictures of it. It's definitely in mph, just the increments a smaller. I was told it was calibrated to work right just plug and play, assuming your stock setup worked fine.

I have a canadian sold car and everything is in Imperial measure...

I do recall one of our european folks on this forum did have a w-30 with km/hour markings on his speedo? it was germany/switzerland i think.

While on the subject, do you guys know how accurate the speedo's are on our cars? I have stock tire size with 2.73 diff. It seems that i barely touch the gas and my car is up to 40MPH on side streets in Montreal, or maybe the car just has ***** of steel. It's my first olds so any input would be great.

When I've taken my GPS with me I find the car is going about 5 mph faster than the speedo says. A bit more on the highway. My gearing in the thing may be all worn out, but it seems the accuracy changes depending on if I am accelerating or coasting downhill.

Suppose you could do that, if the whole thing was a kilo unit, keeping the odo proper. I went a different route, as my car's a 77', with the original speedo only going to 85. Working with a speedo shop, made my own 140 face, and the shop calibrated it. Actually pretty accurate at highway speeds, where really important. Doubt there's many 77's running around with speedo's like this.

Since you're new to Olds, yes, your car DOES have ***** of steel.

And AZ455, I'll have to try that! I'm not sure where my gps is but I'll try to dig it up and see what I can make of it.
