dog dish caps--help
dog dish caps--help
Hey guys. Have a question.
I have a set of the repop dog dish caps from Fusick for my '68 442.
As far as I can tell, the car has a set of original steel wheels. Even the spare matches up. I cannot see any codes on them as I had the wheels powder coated for durability.
The caps go on without problem. However, it looks like they're stretching too far, and hence, can't "relax" once settling in on the wheel. So, any time I put them on, they pop off withing 10 ft of driving the car. Luckily none have been damaged, but I'm worried about putting them back on.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is there any "trick" I might use to get them to stay on the car?
Thanks

I just put on a set on my 70 442 and had the same concerns. Mine stayed on but I could hear them rattling when I went through a tunnel.
For a temporary fix, I did put some Frog Painting tape on the inside of the discs which seem to tighten them up a bit. However, I know this is not a long term fix so I will be curious if anybody else responds too!
Maybe I will see you at the Pavs sometime!
