Chrome hood locks

Does anyone know who is the best supplier for the chrome hood locks.
Fusicks is out because they feel that I am looking for 'perfect' ones.I got some from USA Parts Supply and they had marks on them and I had to send them back.[The part no. on the box was HL7025...same as Fusicks]
Please advise.

i thought the original manufacturer of them were the one reproducing them? that was what year one was saying in the 90s and that was the last i heard this so it may not be true any more.

Something I think a lot of owners lose sight of is that these cars were not perfect when they were built. They were built by humans on an assembly line and the object was to get them built, out the door and sold with as little warranty work as possible.

Production appearance standards were higher than those for service parts, which is why a lot of NOS pieces, even though "new-in-the-box", often appear substandard compared to what the assembly line installed.

I guess you need to decide whether you want a factory production accurate restoration, or a World of Wheels restoration. Not to sound harsh, it's your money, time and car, but anyone who believes those cars were built "perfect" is living in a dream world. And GM had higher standards than Ford and Chrysler.

I am well aware that aftermarket parts come from Taiwan and are not the highest quality. However, when a reputable parts supplier [Fusicks], claims that they are ''excellent reproduction of the originals'', and they are then said to be ''very nice'' by their sales staff [Dave Jackson], I tend to feel miss led. All I ask is a chrome hood lock with decent chrome [no micro pits or surface scratches.] After being screwed over by so many suppliers, [one Canadian, two American,] I'm just a little tired of the bullshit.Sorry for the rant.

I got mine from the Parts Place. They were very, very good. The chrome was nice and shiny and they also sold all the other parts to go with them.

Many years ago I bought a set from Supercarsunlimited and am very pleased with them. Greg is a one man band and I'm sure you could talk with him over the phone to express your concerns. John
