light bulbs

After 22 years of service my light bulbs on the interior of the Cutlass have not burned out but are so yellow from use, I really can not see the gauges. Will I have trouble if I use #168 instead of the stock bulbs? I think I am asking is the bulb going to be too hot inside the gauge package or should I use the stock bulbs?

Scroll through this thread, Rob talks about different bulb numbers.

There was another thread I thought created by Rob where he talks about painting something in the gauge pod that helped brighten the lights. You might send him a PM to ask about it. John

See the "rally pack stuff" thread in my sig for that...
Once repainted, the 194 bulbs should work fine.

To get the right bulbs for your applications, try Certified Auto Electric. Their prices are great, and they have pretty much every bulb you can imagine. They have more bulbs than just what you see here. If you e-mail them (sales@certifiedautoelectric.com), Jeff should be able to get you just what you want.

Try this site. I changed out my gauge lights in my boat to red and loved the result. They never get hot and will most likely never fail.

Thanks for the suggestions. I looked at them all and like the color bulbs.
