Flat v Dimple fender ???
Flat v Dimple fender ???
I know this has been discussed before but I need some advice. I bought an original 70 W-30 from Tx several years ago that was a one owner car with history from day one and it had dimpled fenders. I know of a 71 W 30 Canadian conv that has flat fenders. It too is documented with history and one owner. Also there is a one owner 72 Cutlass in NC that came with one dimpled and one flat fender.
Reason for question is that I have a 70 W-30 car which I believe to have original paint and stripes and it has dimpled fenders. I am about to decide whether to have it painted or just spotted and I have a set of flat fenders that are not as good as the ones on the car. The only rust on the fenders on the car is lower rt side that is easily repairable. Do I end the controversy and put flat ones on or leave it alone and forget about the dimples until someone asks why.
This is a numbers matching car with broadcast sheet so there is not a question as to its pedigree. What would you do?
Any others cars known to have the " wrong " fenders? BTW This is a March build date car. Thanks John
