Under-hood shots
I am very proud of my engine compartments - while hardly perfect, very presentable, and you guys and gals know they don't just roll out of bed looking like that - it takes work!
Let's see some of yours
88 when I got her - not too bad
88 now
Toronado when I got her
Toronado now
wagon when I got her (so so sad)
wagon now (much happier)

Here's my 3-fitty engine in it's youth.
Bored 30 over now it's something bigger in actuality.
I guess it needs a few more parts to be an underhood shot, and an under the hood location.
When I find my finished engine pic file I'll be bach.

Someone changed it to a 389 Pontiac with automatic trans, topped off with a 65 Chevelle console and shifter. Only thing Olds was the body. I put it back the way Olds built it.

Quick question on this. Isn't that the wrong sticker on the air cleaner on both your '75 88 and the '76 wagon? I think that Olds stopped putting "Rocket" on the air cleaner decal after 1973 or 1974. My '75 Delta 88 convertible had the original sticker on it when I got it, and it just said "Oldsmobile 455" with the "455" below the word "Oldsmobile."
I think if I look closely at the air cleaner decal in your "88 when I got her" photo, it's faded, but it looks like it just said "Oldsmobile 455".
Your "Toronado now" photo has the correct sticker for the other two cars, but not for the Toronado? The "Toronado when I got her" photo has the Toronado-trademark blue sticker. Why didn't you put the same sticker back on it?
I know that people like to see the word "Rocket" on their Olds engines, but to be completely correct, the word should not be there on these particular cars!

I like the rockets, yes it's wrong but I had to do it, and the Toronado blue sticker bothered me because it clashed with the aqua motor paint. I know, I have issues, and I am dealing with them the best I can.
The stickers can also be reversed.
Funny, no OCA score sheet ever mentioned any of this

I knew it. Nothing gets past me, except nearly everything!
This is funny but not surprising. Nobody can know everything about a car and what it should exactly look like. And there's nothing more natural and correct-looking than that the word "Rocket" on the engine of an Oldsmobile. I've helped in judging at the Mid-Ohio chapter show back about 10 years ago, and you'll get jumped all over if you have the wrong hose clamps, because everybody knows what those should look like.

I should have learned my lesson years ago when I put power windows in the 74 Salon. I'm better, nothing gets cut anymore (well almost nothing) everything can be undone.
But I have to laugh at the scoresheets, comparing year to year.
A little inconsistent (I judged 1 year - never again) and @ this point, show only is the way I am going.
I have breezed through not only OCA shows but AACA and no one has ever mentioned this
doing everything I can not to use these as CHMSL or whatever they're called

I think I'm gonna have Don paint the core support and all those bolts! It will look much better.
Wow BigJerr.... That is a fancy looking engine! I like the color. I also like that Rocket on the alternator! Did it come on there, or is it a decal??

Yes, I do miss her red hoses, LOL!! I don't want a new filler cap, but I would like to shine this one up some. I just don't know what to use on it. It's original and supposed to look kind of old. Jeffrey's still looks kind of old on the 88 pic.... I like that!
