My Model Car Collection

I assembled my first 1/8 scale car in 1965. I continued to collect them as they were released, up until the mid eighties when they were discontinued. I also collected all of the 1/12th Jim Beam Decanters as well as the various releases of 1/18 scale muscle cars by ERTL, Exact Detail, GMP, etc. Now I can just about move in my den!

That is a nice collection. Hope you've got it insured separate from yer homeowners. My collector car policy will now insure any auto-related collectibles which is a good thing.

I got that 1:8 Corvette for Christmas one year and it was a pain to find anywhere to display it. I was still in grade school and my mama didn't see having a big blue model car on display in the living room, which was the only place in the house there was enough room. My little 8x10 lair sure didn't have enough room.

That's a nice collection. Dan glass cases are almost a must have. I have three. The first two were cheap put together units cost me $100 each I believe. I get 24 cars to a case. But then I saw he big one at a place called unclaimed freight which is a furniture store around here. I think it cost me $700 or $900 I forget which. It came with 7 glass shelves and I have since added one to make 8. I think I could very well add another. There are 72 cars in my large case. Please don't ask how much money I have in the cars. I don't want to know. The cases really cut down on dust.
