First time for me to notice this. I need to get better pictures but the very back on the bottom side of these two OAI hoods are different. Both are factory GM hoods. Has one of these been modified or did Oldsmobile have two different style? If both were done by Oldsmobile, when was the change made? One has two metal plates spot welded in and the other has one long plate spot welded.

The first three pictures are the two plate style and the last two pictures is the style I am use to seeing. Both look like factory spot welds.

 

Just found these pictures of a 71 442 Convertible I had several years ago. It has the two plates. Car date code is 01C
