Advice on 70 Cutlass Supreme

I am looking at a 70 cutlass supreme with a 4 speed. Can anyone help me be sure this is from the factory? I also want to make sure it has original engine in the car if anyone can help with that. This car was on e-bay and ended last night, and if anyone saw this what do you think. (dark green convertible Spingfield, Il.) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad

For the engine to be original you have to check the vin derivitive that is on a small machined pad just below the #1 spark plug. To confirm the trans. there should be a vin derivitive on the drivers side of the transmission, which means you will have to get the car up on a hoist, or a least some ramps or jack stands to get a look.

Congrats on your purchase! Yes as said by 1969w31 there will be a vin number on both the engine and transmission that should match the one on the dash. When you get it home if you have trouble finding these numbers let us know and we'll give you more help locating them. John

Vin #

Thanks for the info. I have not purchased the car yet I just want to make sure everything is correct before I do. I am really looking for a 68 like this but not able to find one. I guess I do not not have the patience to wait until one comes along. Thanks again.
