Decode Help

This is the body tag off a car I'm thinking about looking at. Trying to figure out the color & anything else about the car. It looks like someone sprayed extra coating on this tag. Can anyone figure it out? Best screenshots I could take. Car is not local so I can't go see it until I work out a possible deal. Car is a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.

NOTE: I am still searching for a 1971 or 1972 Blue Cutlass S or Supreme. Hardtop, Automatic, No Projects. If you know of one close to Massachusetts, PM me. Thanks

You didn't really give us much to work with. About the only thing you can see for certain is that the car was built in Lansing.
Maybe it's paint code "24" Nordic Blue with possibly a "B" black vinyl top?

If there's that much undercoating on the cowl tag it makes me wonder what they are hiding.

Sorry, that's all I have to show at this point. I may be able to get them to clean the undercoating off and take a better picture. What would they could use to clean the undercoating off? Do you think someone other than the factory applied the undercoating? I mean, it seems pretty legit from what I can tell. 40K miles on the car, very clean all around.

Lacquer thinner, diesel fuel, toluene work well. Citrus Solvent is also excellent at removing asphalt/tar. Use a foam brush (or brushes) for ease of application. Super inexpensive ($.079) & easy to work with.

Thanks for the idea. I'll pass on to the owner and see if he'll clean it up. Any idea why there's so much undercoating spray on the cowl tag? Factory applied or applied by someone else?

Applied by someone else.
Factory didn't undercoat cars. Dealers did.

And dealers DID NOT undercoat the cowl, just the underside and wheel wells, and maybe the inside of the doors/q-panels(if it was Ziebart)

At this stage, based on the information or non-information provided to date, no one knows with any degree of certainty exactly what the material is on the plate. For all it matters at this point, what can be viewed in the images could very well be black paint over paint of any color. The idea it's 'undercoating' has yet to be validated by anyone.
