Is that the best image you can provide - VERY difficult to read. At a minimum provide the numbers EXACTLY as they are listed. Members shouldn't have to guess what this cowl tag states - your help is needed.

ST 69 = style/model year = 1969
33687: 3=GM division=Oldsmobile; 36=model series=Cutlass V-8; 87=body type=holiday coupe
LAN = assembly plant = Lansing MI
170639 BDY= Fisher Body number (has no relationship to the car's VIN)
TR 334 = interior color and front seat type = gold with bench seat
40 40 PNT = lower and upper body colors = saffron for both
10E = time build code = October (10), fifth week of that month (E), 1968

Hope that helps.

That tag could be a W30--well, it doesn't exclude it.

your vin shows the car to be a cutlass , not a 442, so it cant be a W30

Sorry, but the VIN does basically say it's not a W-30. It's a 1969 Cutlass.

The W-30 option was only available on 442's which had their own model # in 1969 and would be shown on the VIN as:
  • 34467 442 2 dr. Convertible
  • 34477 442 2 dr. Sports Coupe
  • 34487 442 2 dr. Holiday Coupe
It is within the realm of possibility that it could be a W-31 as this was available on the Cutlass model line.
Here's the 442 and Cutlass engine options for 1969

The cowl tag in 1969 may read 33667 or may read 34467 for a 442. This horse has been beat and would really like to be buried.
