Manual found for my olds ?

Hi Guys,
I started a new thread for some more questions I have about my Olds. I did find this parts booklet. But it's for a 1955 Delta 88. I don't think it's for my 1956 Olds. I don't know why I have this. It was in my folder for the work done on the car. Would this be of any help for my 1956 Olds? I had to only send the first 6 pages.. ... I have more pages..

Burchill's is a name I hadn't heard in decades. He used to advertise in old car magazines in 1970s and 80s. There was no 1955 Delta 88, though Olds did produce a Motorama showcar called Delta. The Delta 88 as most know it appeared in 1965 as a replacement for the Super 88 series.

Guessing yer grandpa picked that up for a 1955 going by his title and registration. The info looks like it could have come from a Motor's, Chilton or Glenn's Professional Trades Edition general service manual, which is what a general repair garage that worked on all different makes would have used.

This book will be your best friend. Find an original print copy if possible; reprints and digital copies leave a lot to be desired. It's the 1956 Oldsmobile factory Service Manual- same book the Olds dealer line mechanics used to service your Oldsmobile when it was new.

That just looks like scans from a Chiltons or similar generic repair book. If you want a real service manual, buy one. There are over a dozen originals on ebay right now, with the least expensive one starting at $18.

WOW!!! Thanks so much for the manual info. I'll check out e-bay and purchase one. I'm really learning so much. I just wish I would have talked to my grandfather about the car. Thanks again for all the great information. You guys are Oldsmobile wizards..!!!!
