Car Museum...

A friend of mine got around zoning laws, coastal commission rules and use of public land by declaring his collection of cars a "Museum". None of the cars are for sale and no parts are for sale. I told him that even big well funded museums sell stuff to finance more cars and for upkeep. He said he'd think about it . This recent group of pics was taken with CO.com in mind ...

These are a classicolds exclusive. These pics and this site are presented here only ...

If you know what year etc. cars are feel free to chip in ...

He has a bunch of '58 chevies next to his trailer ...

Cool pics, thanks for posting them.

They can call it a museum all day but it's still looks like a boneyard to me.

With all the critters living in those cars maybe it could be a petting farm too.

cool pictures, but I hate to see neat cars growing into the ground and going back to nature when many could be saved

That is one organized (by year of car it looks like) boneyard - uhh, museum. That Jag looked like an XKE to me! What about all those 58 Chevys lined up like Rockettes!! (another dream car of mine).

If he's not selling those cars, is he at least fixing any up?

He's an eccentric millionaire and he has amassed his collection to present as an art collection ...

I think I might sell or fix up a few cars but I want him to think it's his idea...

They may be going back to nature but since most were bought from junkyards at least they haven't been scrapped and the california soil and weather is not that destructive ...

It's California, The vinyl might be cracking but very little rotting...

I see everyone thinks like me and wants to restore just about every car there ...

As I get to know this guy better I might be able to work something out but it might take a cool mill or six figures minimum to swing a deal ...

the faint of heart might not want to view the next few pics ...

So this guy wants to sell his entire collection?

Chances are most of those cars are still going to be sitting there the day he dies (and that much more deteriorated). That is unless you convince him to sell one or two to you since he knows you. There are people like this all over the place. It is a real bummer!

It's kind of a bummer that the cars are just sitting there but therre is a slim chance that I might be able to score a car or two and sell it to you ...

I am not going to rush this guy and blow it so it might be awhile ...

It's taken me over a year to just get permission to post pics ...

A million for PART of the collection ...

I just hope I get to deal with relatives that are blowing out their inheritance ...

You guys are missing what a wonderful thing it is that these were not crushed ...

You might think it's a bummer but I look at it like he turned useless cash int a collection of American Art...

There is only one collection like this. You can not show me another that is even close as you will see as this unfolds ...

Yep, I used to have one. Like most Jags every morning you've got about a 50/50 shot the POS will start.

I am still amazed how the British won the Battle of Britian flying Spitfires with Lucas electric systems.

I really likes that street sweeper if that's what it is.
Sure looks just like the one we would follow around on our bikes when I was a kid, it was so cool.
Imagine pulling into a cruise-in or car show in one of those babies all tricked out.
