Spark plug wires

I’ve tracked down a slight miss in my 455 to a bad #1 plug wire so I’m looking to purchase a new set. The wires I have now are Taylor 8 mm 45 degree boot . I got them from summit about 3 years ago . I like the angled boots and they are all plenty long .more than once I’ve bought wires that were too short and when you try to adjust the timing some will tighten like a piano string ( they say fits Oldsmobile). Looking for recommendations for replacements that fit the bill and won’t break the bank . Thank you

I like the Taylor Spiropro wires which is probably what you have now.

You might want to check out "Electric Limited" and see what they have to offer for your requirements.

MSD 8.8. Pricey, but they've lasted ten years and are still hanging in there. Plus, at the time I bought them, they were one of the few choices available in a factory-appearing black.

Some Taylor wire is available by the foot to custom make the bad one or custom length a complete set.

Good luck!!!

Get the MSD universal wires and the proper crimpers and make your own. The premade wires seem to always include one that’s way too long, and a couple shorter than ideal.

Unless you are running headers, a stock wire set is all you need:

What's the correlation between headers and plug wires on an Olds?
You can get "stock" wires a lot cheaper than $75, too!

Heat resistance.

if you count date coding in the definition of stock, Lectric Limited is very competitive for a low stock price.

I had the MSD Superconductor wires crack #1 wire twice from heat, towing with my 403. I really like the Accel wires of the 10 years or so. Ironic, years back when they were US made, 30 years back, they were terrible. The now discontinued Accel 25 ohm race wires were great quality that held up to heat and super low resistance. The Accel and MSD products are now both owned by Holley, so probably very similar. The Summit 7mm wires held up fine and look fairly close to stock. Good luck.

Get a couple delco sets while they still make them, put one on, put one away, they don’t have the nibs on for the HEI cars,
