Got 3rd in a car show of 60

My 57 Olds got 3rd place today at a car show of 60 cars of all types, including some of the most chrome-dazzlling rods I've seen. Judging was "Peoples Choice". Won $50!

The ego is feeling just fine...

Congrats on the trophy. Met a guy today at a show. Sitting away from the action. His car looks alot like mine so I of course walked over and chatted with him. Turned out he had an accident in the 80s and the car was hand driven. He said he wished he had his wheelchair to cruise the lot. Nice guy, nice car.

Congratulations.

I bet that chrome alternator and oil filler cap helped to put you in the win column.

============================

It may have helped.

Most of the comments I have received are on the color of the car (pink), which is an unusual color seen today, except perhaps with the classics. This color really seems to pop under lights and a real crowd pleaser. And what surprises me is that men as much as women like it. I have an ad photo of a pink Olds from a 1957 magazine where in the foreground is the car with a guy in the background fishing.

Thanks to all for your replies and interest!

I think Elvis may have had something to do with this color's popularity and having a pink cadillac.

It did, as there were a few 69's there; however, 1st place went to a 69 Camaro, in 2nd place was a 55 Chevy Nomad.
