They came in different colors too. I have a black and a gray/silver one somewhere around here.

I was wondering the same, thinking it looks like a fancy pencil eraser.

They're plastic. A few inches long, and resemble the 83/84 H/O. Promo toys. I imagine for the kids or something.

may have been made at olds factory in their injection mold area,i know in metal press,they made ash trays. kind of like tests for the machines. i have some in black,clear,ive seen them in pink and green.
