Does anyone know of a good way to ship heavy items other than fastenal ? All my local stores are now closed and I’m looking to ship an engine block to Oklahoma . Thank you
Be careful with Uship, trying to find a relaible carrier can be an issue, most are not "certified" (if that's the right term) for interstate paid transportation. Also, Uship's insurance for some items have a $500 or higher deductible. You need to read the fine print.
Good to no, I have only seen the show, just thinking out loud lol.
I know fedex does “freight” shipping for heavier items. I dont know any details for them tho.
also ive recevied items from carriers like r&l, yellow or roadway, some do residential deliveries, at leadt one i picked up at their dock in a nearby larger city.

Greyhound has closed a lot of their "manned" kiosks in medium / small locales. they still stop at these locations, but the passengers and driver now interface via their phones, now, with an app. No more package express at these locations.
So yes, it is getting continually harder, and more expensive to ship larger items.
Do you know anyone that works at a warehouse? I sent a complete rear end and driveshaft via USF Holland from my work place to the buyers workplace for about $100, delivered next day.
Even if the buyer doesn't have access to a warehouse, it'll save on the front end if you have someone there and can get it there.
Also, yes I'm aware this thread is over a year old..but I figure its an option that could be explored by whoever, whenever.

Amen to what Brothergood said. I was in the trucking world for years. Look up trucking companies around you. Something that small on the back of a load could be done fairly by truckers near you. I would start there. Plenty of good trucking outfits near you. Oklahoma is good that way.
