? on trunk mat for 68 Cutlass S

I've seen 4 different types of mats available. Trying get the proper one just for looks. Interior is Teal Blue bench, basic 350 2 barrel, power drum brake car if that matters as I seen looped carpet in Medium blue, or rubber mat with Olds written on it Or what?
Also are the walls of trunk suppose to be painted body color or a trunk paint color?

Not body color. There's a spatter paint.

IIRC the mat in my 68 was an aqua houndstooth pattern, flexible vinyl/plastic. There would be spatter paint, sloppily applied at plant, on trunk interior.

The aqua houndstooth pattern flexible vinyl/plastic was the stock-type covering over the spatter-painted trunk area - what bccan and Koda said. I believe the rubber mat with OLDSMOBILE stamped into it was a dealer accessory. I finished my trunk per original with the houndstooth covering and put the rubber mat over the top of it. I live in a less-humid climate and that combination seems to have worked out OK for the last 14 years in both my '68 and '69 4-4-2 convertibles. I understand, though, that in more humid climates the rubber mat might collect moisture underneath which could lead to rusting.

Any recommendations on where to purchase the houndstooth cover. I want to also put rubber mat as I'm using my car and the mat will help me from ruining carpet.

Also the rattle can splatter paint comes in colors. Which color? Black, white, grey, green. Thanks for the help. Car is not a show piece but just want it to look better. Makes me feel better looking at stock looking things on car.

As Randy notes, you might want to stay away from the heavy rubber mats unless you live in a climate that is very dry. They definitely encourage condensation.
Whatever mat you use, make sure to remove it if the car is to be stored for any length of time.

I live in Az. We are pretty low on humidity and rain.

I got my trunk spatter paint (spray cans) and the trunk compartment mat from Fusick. For me, they seem to provide the best products, they know Oldsmobiles quite well if you talk with them on the phone, and they back up their products with good guarantee if something is wrong. Check out their on-line catalog at www.fusickautomotiveproducts.com. www.fusick.com might also work. My '68 came originally with steel wheels so I also got a new tire cover from them (matches the vinyl black and aqua houndstooth pattern trunk mat). I also got the rubber trunk mat from them. The rubber mat takes a little "carving" to make it fit with regards to the spare tire hold down mechanism but it looks nice.
