Statute of limitations needed on old photos!!!

My wife and kids are cracking up over my old high school yearbook. Even though my wife is only a few years younger than me, she is old enough to remember the big hair that was popular in the late 80s. My stepdaughter is commenting on the stuff we wore that is once again trendy.

Im sure those of you in readerland who are close to my age make fun of the cat eye glasses, bee hive hairdo, and clothing styles of your parents. And our kids children will no doubt make fun of the ripped jeans, wild hair colors, stupid tattoos, man hair buns (ok, that one makes perfect sense!) or whatever the near futures fashion brings.

Opinions???

My brother rocked a full-on Afro in the mid 70's. That, and the fact he was a ginger, got him all the attention he could handle. Wish I had a picture. Glad I didnt attend high school at the, same time he did

The pants worn below the *** cheeks originated in the prisons, advertising the individual was available for sex (in the tailpipe) if you know what I mean. Now it’s a fashion statement among the young men. I wish the women would start the trend!

The styles of today are by far much worse than anything we dreamed up as kids.

The late 80's was my day, also, but I couldn't afford most fashion. I tried growing my hair long for the mullet, but my hair grew "up" instead, and just got all fluffy. Eventually I just went with a crew cut, and keep it short to this day. The less bother, the better. My mother, who's day was the 60s, had a beehive hairdo in her wedding pictures, I always thought it was amusing. To admit how strange I am, I kinda wish fedoras would come back, I love those hats!

The trend in my era was just #501 Levies but they had to be dark blue and never washed. You could take them off and they would stand up by themselves plus they would get shiny with grime. Somehow that seamed cool.. Strange now...Tedd

I'm now 67 , my wardrobe has not changed since I was a teen ager !! JEANS AND TEE SHIRT I never was a fan of the elephant bells and always just wore regular fit regular cut jeans no low rise. If I could not find regular pant leg jeans I may have settled for a slight flare or boot cut and always long enough that the back of the cuff was frayed from touching the ground I COULD NOT STAND HIGH WATERS !! no button flys either !!!! my body has changed, fat to skinny to fat and skinny again but still just jeans and tee shirt. Hair ? well I did let it get to shoulder length a few times but never a pony tail guy, now I have no hair and what little I do have I let the wife cut !!
The wife's wardrobe has not changed a lot either stlll 90 % jeans however she still looks way, way better in her jeans than I do !!!
NOW as for the FEDORA I'm x3 on that !!!! Here in AZ. it gets a little to warm for a felt fedora I have found one well vented straw hat that came close to a noir style detective special but I some how lost it and have not found it's replacement
P/S I do think I had one Tye- Dye tee shirt but the rest were mostly blue, black, O.D. green or gray. I told my wife just plant me in my jeans and t-shirt.

I forgot to mention the ridiculous face piercings and stupid earlobe things.

About 20 years ago I worked with a kid who was head to toe piercings and tattoos, with his earlobes all stretched out. He looked like a mix between a fishing lure and a pin cushion. His car didn’t have on straight panel on it anywhere, taped up headlights, busted up taillights, and absolutely covered in bumper stickers. He had several that said “bad cop, no donut for you!” He complained that whenever he got pulled over (which seemed to happen a lot, wonder why??) he never got off with a warning. Could it have anything to do with his ;#1 his lifestyle, #2, his appearance, #3, his attitude, or #4, all the above??

He didn’t last long working here. I seriously doubt he found another job that allowed him to look the way he did, or make the money and enjoy the benefits.

I do have to comment on Elephant Bell corduroy pants. Going to show my age here.
Rollerskating at the rink was a thing. Elephant Bells would cover my skates so all you saw were the wheels. Ha ha. White corduroy came out. I couldn't afford a new pair of white ones. I bleached my dark blue ones. My entire household was pissed. (I am the last of seven.) I bleached dark blue corduroy pants. The dark blue thread didn't bleach. I was Super Fly. White corduroy's with blue stitching. Everyone was 🤯
Ha Ha Ha... Oohh the seventies...

I'll never understand why people voluntarily mutilate themselves, especially if they're already good looking. Why go through life looking like a Gypsy? Tattoos don't improve with age, either.

Good looks or a nice smile does not correlate to intelligence or good nature.
