Test fit is the only way to tell if you need to "massage" them

X2, headers are somewhat hit and miss as far as fit.

So neither of you have these I guess .My question was if someone has a pair of these and if the design was changed, most headers I've installed were very good and have never had to be beaten on except for some cheep ones going into a car and guy bought from Ebay they were sold as bbo headers but we're sboheaders .

Here's a read on the D741 Doug's headers refinement. This may help answer your question. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/1967...tlass-headers/

Just called Jegs and they are looking into the fitment of these headers description says they have factory dents to clear steering shaft, older ones didn't have the dents and you had to put your own dents in them to clear steering shaft on 1967 cars mine is a 1969 442 but the header's I received have no dents so that is what I'm worried about also the fact I just had surgery on my rotator in my arm sets me back from installing them and I don't want to call Jegs back 6 months from now saying I received the wrong headers. Also hot rod magazine show the same issue but with 1967 442 and header had to be dented. Thanks for all the help guys.

I have Doug headers on my 70. They are the older ones, like 10 years ago. They fit fine, did not have to dent them at all. I think the difference in mine is just the finish? Mine are the nickel plated one, not ceramic coated, that may be why mine has a different number. I can't believe they changed the style, when they were fitting so good. Also,I think mine are 1 3/4, maybe the new ones are 1 7/8?

Just seen date on flange and they were made 11/2020 so I feel they were probably changed around 2013 as hot rod magazine had a write up on them but hopefully tomorrow I will have a answer maybe the 1 7/8 headers were dented and it's a typo on the D741 1 3/4 pipe header info.
