How many of you have the HD 3-speed manual like me? "Dearborn Toploader" with FOMOCO cast in the housing.

I have one! 1 of the 87 1969 convertibles. I know of two 69 convertibles personally as well as another handful from online, including some hardtops. I have not researched other years.

And I would guess console cars with the 3-spd manual transmission have console top pieces that are pretty rare. Most of them are drilled to accommodate the 4-spd shift pattern plate, which fastened on the 3-spd pattern already in the console top piece.

Yes I agree, my brother's 64 Cutlass Conv was a console equipped 330 3spd car originally. We did convert it to a 4 speed but the pins were broken off a 4 speed console emblem and it was siliconed onto the 3 speed one as not to drill it.

My dad bought his 1965 442 brand new in 1965 and it had the 3spd in the floor.

Mid-1965 was the first release of the Dearborn trans.
