I'm no expert on Mopars , but it seems to me that the firewall and the underside of the hood should be the same color as the exterior of the car .
To me , this car was painted a darker shade of green than it was from the factory .
Then later the door had to be repaired . The bodyman ordered paint from the paint code on the body tag . hence the wrong color .

Nice, too bad about the paint, can't believe someone would leave the paint like that.

If it’s a complete rust free, lots of paperwork car that just needs some TLC (and the door repainted!) I’d say the price isn’t too far out of line. Anything Mopar is expensive, and only going to get more valuable.

Nice car! I don't think that's out of line knowing how nice desert southwest cars can be, and I'd drive that all day. Always liked those in that green

I'd say the price is fair being a non-R/T car and having A/C, maybe a smidge high due to the door paint. That door paint issue is going to definitely need someone who is good at color matching to try to repaint it. I'd probably try to knock off a few grand for the hassle that will cause.

There are quite a few of us who could not stomach the new Camaro, so we bought the current Challengers. So why not an original? As said, go over it with a fine tooth comb.

I don't know anything about Mopars, but that is a sharp classic!

My other car is a 70 Challenger. I know a lot about Mopars. Any pictures of the fender tag? If that is an original 383 car with luggage rack, $25,000 is a steal. $25,000 gets you a beater in Moparland. Man! her bones are great. If those are original 15x7 rallye wheels, they are worth $2000 and up. A set of original trim rings were recently listed for over $5000. Looks like whatever trim rings are on it, they are definitely incorrect. If you like Challengers, that is an excellent looking car. Paint is the cheapest part of the equation if she's got a clean body and she looks clean. $40,000 is an everyday price for a clean big block Challenger.

Matching the door paint to the car is no big deal. These new paint readers / computers could match a Patina car. LOL!

Regardless, you don't want to just paint the door. Needs to be blended out in both directions.

I think it is a great looking "sleeper"...At a very good price. I have seen 318s go for more.

Good luck, have fun and be safe.

I think you got a great deal. The repaint of the door should be fairly simple for a good body shop.
