Carlisle ?

Headed for Carlisle tomorrow, don’t know what to expect! I spoke to someone at Fusick yesterday , they told me that they will not bring a trailer but that the owner might show up Thursday just to look around. They will probably go to fall if there is one. I just need to get out and see some car stuff. My wife and I rent a small spot in an antique shop, we will be looking for some memorabilia to fill up the empty spots.

Let me know how it goes TJ. I was registered for Chevy Nat's on the 26th with my Oldsmobile since it was a few years ago the "GM Nationals". But cancelled my registration. They were nice enough to move it to 2021 for me. Wanted to go and see Courtney Hanson and show my blue beauty. I haven't missed a year since I started there back in 2008. Got to have my 10 year reunion with Linda Vaugh last year. Unfortunatley I got sidelined this year by having to pull my engine and it won't be done in time to go.

Thinking about heading up tomorrow and Friday, but with the weather (80% chance of rain both days) and the smaller crowds due to the pandemic, just wondering if it's worth the 2 hour drive (each way). Not sure how many vendors are out there/or will remain out there if the rain comes through. Only been once before and the weather was nice so not sure how the swap meet operates in the rain.

Any thoughts?

Well ------ interesting ----- and the weather forecast is not good.....
Yesterday and Today are drop dead gorgeous, but the forecast for Thursday, Friday, and
Saturday is not good -- a lot of precipitation called for.
Vendor spaces are half full only , and the "crowds" are not big....
Their is plenty on natural social distancing.....
Most people are wearing masks, or they, like mine presently are around my chin, and ready to fire up when necessary....
Those of us that are here are not planning on leaving --- so come on by, at
I I (Aye Aye --- middle of the Infield , Row I) 118 - 119....
Yours, Craig......

Hey Joe P. And others....
Health Department was here ----- Every T V station ---- making a big deal of it....
It is 82 acres and outdoors --- there was absolutely no place in here that had 250 people in here gathered together --- not even the food court from what I heard....
Everyone had masks on , or around their chins, ready to fire up, like me... If anyone or anybody had asked me to put my mask over my mouth and nose, my answer would have been "Absolutely (Sir or Madam), no problem, our health is number # 1 ........"
The precipitation coming (at 11:00 P.M. tonight --- and maybe during the large part of
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) is kill the show far more than any other factor.....
At some point in Life, we do need to live..... A little anyway......
Yours, Craig..... If you come on down, stop and see me at II (Aye Aye) 118 - 119....
Be safe, bring a mask, and precipitation gear.....

I understand, and I've been following it on line. Unfortunately, my day job prevents me from attending this week.

I'm sure the plan here is to just delay any legal action until next week...

I spent the afternoon at Carlisle, maybe a little more than half capacity , easy to social distance. Enjoyed hunting around for some memorabilia and assorted junk. I wish Fusick would have showed up, I needed some things from them. Hopefully fall will be better.

Are there any statues attendees could tear down or Wendy’s to burn? If so, you can have as big a group as you like with full backing from state & local government.

Everybody that was here today DID have a good time today !!!!!!
We were enjoying LIFE for a change !!!!

TJpal --- I don't believe you stopped by me here... You missed 1/2 of the Olds show here at spring Carlisle by not seeing my spread !?!?!

And to bccan --- we all commented on the fact that if we made some Black Lives Matter signs
And hung 'em (oh, maybe bad choice of words!!!) Everywhere, we could get away with anything!!!!
Truth is, at car shows and everywhere:. ALL LIVES MATTER !!!!!!!!
No apology is enough when an innocent gets killed... No "I'm sorry" is enough......

Sign of the times...

I seem to remember old Carlisle threads being "Hey, I found this part" or "Check out this car".
Now, we're at "social distancing", law suits and political commentary.

Isn't that PATHETIC ?????? We just want to LIVE a little...
Rained 5 times through the night --- 3 little 5 - 10 minute drizzles, 2 -- little 5 minute light rains.... Not bad at all.
Forecast for today: Mostly cloudy, intermittent showers; could be okay to come down here !!!!!

Bring your mask, it is 100 times safer here than at your
 local Walmart .........
Come on down, breathe fresh air, ENJOY LIFE........
Yours, Craig ......

Just got back, weather held, a few spits/mist but not enough to get wet. Cloudy then the sun came out, started to get hot but a nice day. I would say slightly less vendors than the sparse Fall meet last year. There were a lot more vendors than expected. As always Olds parts are scarce, 1% of attendees and vendors wore masks. Social distancing outside was not a problem not hard to achieve. I had no worries about it at all.... No real finds for me but it was great to have been there, glad I went.

Pennsylvania Department of Health was in court with Carlisle....pushed off until 12:00 Noon tomorrow.... So by the time they figure out what they are doing tomorrow, tomorrow will be in the books.....

The Pennsylvania Health Department brought Carlisle to court to try and get a Cease and Desist order to shut down the show....
The Judge favors Carlisle -- and they have video evidence that there are NO 250+ people gatherings anywhere on the 82 acres outdoors site, which there are NOT.
They are reconvening in court today at Noon.....
By the time those meetings are done, you know Friday is over -- and the day here at Carlisle will have already practically concluded....
So, you are certainly safe to come here to Carlisle Friday..... Stay tuned for news about Saturday, but it should be good to go... I will keep all informed....
Yours, Craig.....
You can check out the local news reports to see some of the comments of the (female !!)
Judge..... Kind of interesting !!!!!!

Just got back from Carlisle. Like previously mentioned, only about half the vendors there and a decent size crowd given everything going on. They did come over the loudspeaker and announce the update with the department of health. It was good to get out there, saw about 3-4 Olds specific stands, and the weather held out the entire time we were there.

Anyone go to the Chevrolet Nationals and have any luck finding Olds items? Just wondering is it's worth the trip up ther .

Morons from Pennsylvania Department of Health was told by that female judge that they had no leg to stand on and dropped the case.....
What does green phase mean ????? GO.... Still with caution, social distancing, and smart limitations.
Show is Go.... It started raining here at. 5:10 P.M. -- and the wind is picking up....
One more day to go...God, please give us one more glorious day down here !!!!!!
First four have been grandiose... raining heavier now...gotta run....

Hey JOE P. (& Others),
No, still flip top cell phone !!! But I got this Ellipsis Tablet at not much more per month....
I NEED to learn more of what it can do, and it is sensational !!!!
Thank goodness I had it during the coronavirus pandemic situation --- with NO shows and
The libraries being closed... I am telling you, it saved my life, by creating some sales !!!
And -- it comes in handy for weather at shows... I used it to get updates on the Carlisle situation --- and I was able to keep everybody on this site informed on what was / is happening at this event. Gotta love it !!!
We missed you for sure, Joe P., Take care of your sweetheart....
Yours, Craig.....

Oh, almost forgot to mention it !!!!
At 2:45 this afternoon, Carlisle's Mike Haglund, got on the loud speaker and informed everyone that the Judge had informed the panel from the Pennsylvania Health Department that their Feast and Desist order was being denied, and that all appeals would be not heard !!!!
You should have heard the applause and cheering throughout the fairgrounds !!!!
It was as if the 25,00 of us had just received the checkered flag....
Carlisle then blasted "We Are The Champions" over the loud speakers, and we were all singing along.... Pretty Cool....

Not one single person moved a muscle, there is NO kneeling, and this week has been about
Respect, Friendship, Our Rights, Freedom, and a return to sanity !!!!!!

GOD BLESS us all.... ALL LIVES MATTER...... Stay Safe....Yours, Craig.....
