A nice 430 mile drive in a '75

That title rhymes. Hope someone appreciates that.

Well the other week, my water pump got extremely loud, and had enough play to push the fan, into the shroud, and also killed the radiator. Sigh.

But after a quick R&R on those (and everything else cooling system related) it was back in business. About a 4 hour job, because I grant myself frequent breaks lol.
So after working on car all day getting it fixed, whats a guy to do? Drive it!

Since I finally nailed down the Q-Jets tuning, and had an all new cooling system, I felt it was ready for a bigger journey. Me and my friend Dan hit the road with no real plan, just a rough idea of where to head. He had his 2011 Ford Crown Victoria, and we set off.

Got out of the city via I-80 then exited at Rt 71 and headed south on ILL 26 . Stopped in Peoria for lunch, ended up in Havana, then shot across Illinois on US 136 to Route 66 in McLean. Followed 66 all the way back home. Saw some neat stuff, car drove excellent, and got about 12 MPG. It was a beautiful day! Oh and I killed my 3rd bird in this car. Not sure why that keeps happening!

My celebratory trips are a bit shorter... Always nice to get out for a drive.

Beautiful car and a great cruiser, I'm sure.

Exactly what these cars were built for - road trips! Just disappointed you didn’t invite about 15 of us to join you in that spectacular land yacht Ninety-Eight👍🇺🇸🤣

Thanks guys! Lol there's definitely room for a football team inside.

I just love driving and exploring the "in between" places around the Midwest, and what better vehicle to do it in than in massive Oldsmobile comfort. 430 miles and you still feel comfortable and the car just wants more and more.

I've put nearly 3k on it in less than 3 months!
