spoiler opinions

4 weeks from shooting paint and going to put this out there for opinions. 1971 Supreme, Dark green, new green vinyl top, supreme body moldings, getting the S hood with louvers, and 442 rear bumper, SPC suspension for lower (2 inches) stance, and 17 inch year one wheels.
Now the question, rear spoiler? Yes/No? Yes, I know,,, its my car build what I like,,, but everyone has opinions so lets hear yours....

I don't think the Supreme looks right with one.

All comments from guys that don't own supremes. Well I own one and have a spoiler, it's upstairs in the garage, I got it when I got the car and then decided no spoilers on supremes lol. Your car looks great w the ss1s and dark green I would keep it just like that!

I love the look of your Supreme just as it is. I don't think a spoiler adds anthing. Tom

No on the spoiler and I would either leave the supreme hood or go with the w25 hood. I think the S hood looke incorrect on the supremes.

I'm not a fan of any vinyl top equipped Oldsmobile that has spoiler and X2 on the Supreme. Seems like a cheesy add on to me. There have been a few around here over the years and seems like at least one had a chebby in it so I may be a little jaded. Love the vinyl top on the Supreme.

I think your Supreme looks great just the way it is. Definitely a no to a spoiler and 17" rims. To me, the larger rims look goofy on older cars. If looking for wider tires, aftermarket 15" SS-1 wheels with trim rings. There are also companies that take 14" wheel centers and reset the them in new 15" rims. The 70-72 cars are purposely low from the factory, are sure you wanted to lower even more? Are you leaving the halo vinyl top?

If this is what it would look like, then I agree with everyone else. No. I've rarely seen any car that looks good with a spoiler, the one below included.

Well reading the above comments renews my faith in good taste. Spoilers on a Supreme is an abomination in the styling department. Please don't, leave that tackiness to lesser cars. Your Supreme looks great as it is.

Had been debating for a while so I guess that puts that issue to bed... No Spoiler it is!
Thanks all for keeping me from committing a styling foopa.... and no holes in the trunk lid!

No on the spoiler since it is a conflicting body line and did not come from the factory, ever, like that.

For the OAI hood, the 72 Hurst did get it, and I suppose you could, with enough arm twisting, get W-25 on a custom ordered Supreme, and they were on a lot of convertibles, which were Supreme bodies. But, everyone and their mom is putting OAI hoods on Olds A-bodies that did not come with them. Be the rebel and don't do one.
