Talking 70 442 back from paint (w/ pics)

After a garage mishap, I got the car back from paint. Work was done by Absolute Auto Body in West Babylon, NY. Beginning to end took about five weeks. Jambs were left original since they were very clean. Due to some bubbling on the lower fenders, there was some discussion when I bought it about how clean the car actually was. It was taken to bare metal. Thankfully it was as clean as I thought, with just the lower front fenders requiring some patches. Doors, quarters & rockers were all clean. Along the way, the car picked up a Thornton OAI hood and a pair of original sport mirrors. It was sprayed base coat / clear coat. Al in all, I'm real happy with the results.
Also, re garage mishap I had a claim with Hagerty. They were great to deal with. (1st time using Flickr. Hope I'm doing it right)

Looks great; beautiful job.

Congratulations on finding a shop that would do this good work in such a short time frame.

Ron,

Be Au Ti Ful!! Did you stick with the straight mix for the twilight blue poly or add a tad more metal flake?

Wow turned out very nicely. It's hard to find a shop that will do work on older cars. Most of them up our way make their living on insurance claims. Bravo! Enjoy. Al

Now you have to find a local pin striper to put the thin side stripes on the sides and trunk.

That's in the plans. It goes back in three months to get rubbed out again. At that time the guy is going to have someone he knows take care of it. Have to join wildaboutcars and get the layout

Looking forward to it.

Guy has a three & a half bay shop. I got him on a referral. I'm very happy with his work.

Wow, that's really gorgeous. Price reasonable? I've used Express Auto Painting in Lindenhurst because he friends with my mechanic. I've used him for mishaps with the newer cars, he's always got classics in there. Always does great work for a reasonable price, but I'm open to shopping around. Thinking about a respray for the Olds...
