442 with round tail lights.....

Hi. Back in the 80s I saw a 442 with round tail lights. Haven't seen another since. Far as I remember, the guy said it was a '68. I haven't found anything through Google, pictures or otherwise. Have any of you seen one of these?

Unless it was a customized car you are mistaken. No round taillights on any year 442.

I guess you could mistake a 72 tail light as being 12 little round lights??

Chances are it was a chevelle like this:

Someone may have transplanted a 442 nose to the Chevelle body.

What Scotty said.
Something you saw over 30 years ago. Your recall may be playing tricks on you, especially if you had to ask the guy what it was.

We put Lemans noses on Chevelles and Firbird noses on Camaro's back in the 70's.

And we all know this one

I didn't say you couldn't do it. I said it wasn't easy. The implication it that it isn't likely in this case. More likely is that the OP is remembering a Chevelle, or confusing a Chevelle with a 442 ('cause that NEVER happens... ).

I saw that car in the school parking lot most of the time I was in high school. I asked him about buying it (he said he would sell it for five thousand).
