64 Starfire

Just recently posted some pictures in the newbie forum of my new to me 64 starfire. She's got some modifications. Well, one or two. But she's mostly original. The biggest change is that some installed an electric fuel pump in the gas line, bypassed the mechanical one, and there is no return line, that I'm seeing. Actually I see the clips where the return line should go. The gas tank likes to leak a little as well. im guessing the fuel lines were bad and someone replaced them with this new system. I'm still trying to see if there is a regulator somewhere. She starts right up though and leaves a couple of black spots on the pavement. I'm wondering if the fuel pump causes the engine to run rich. Other issues would be the heater hoses and wiring being unhooked, the windshield wipers don't work.... only other modification I did was putting a new aluminum radiator, because the original one was leaking all over the place. However I am keeping the original just in case.

Looks good, but you are using the windshield washer container as an overflow for the rad.
I would get another jug under the hood or risk antifreeze on the front window when you turn on the wipers.

I thought that, there's a clip next to that. Looks like maybe that's where the overflow goes. Windshield wipers don't work anyway. Lol. I was thinking there was something closer to the wiper moter/pump that would hold washer fluid.

The front right corner, ahead of the radiator panel, gets pretty crowded on these cars, especially if with A/C like yours. There is room for the horns, the overflow bottle (clear/yellow), and the washer reservoir (black).
I've seen the washer kleen bottle mounted here too, on non-A/C cars. No idea where that moves to if A/C equipped.

My 63 98's have the windshield washer filler tank and the triangular extra fluid in the same area beside the rad and they are A/C cars. In the spring I top up the rad and then take it out for a drive, it will overflow and drain on to the road and that will be it for the rest of the year. The system is designed to have air on the top of the fluid in the top tank and doesn't need an overflow tank.

My non-A/C 64/98 has a spot for the washer kleen, the washer reservoir and the horns. I've been doing research and it appears that the bigger bodied Olds did not have an overflow reservoir, the radiator just had a hose that dumped on the ground. Another member here removed the washer tank, since he didn't use them anyway, and installed a universal reservoir for the coolant in it's place.
