1970 442 Fastback

Can someone tell me what the body tag tells about my car? I know it's factory Astro blue, black vinyl top, but I don't know anything else about how the car came from the factory thanks

Noah,
See if the link below will get you the info you are looking for. It's a tag decoder a member of this forum built.

If not there will be others on here that will tell you everything about your tag.

Good Luck!

Your cowl tag does not have much info. Check for a build sheet as well. where was the car built? Freemont cars often have a build sheet on top of the gas tank.

ST 70 = style/model year = 1970

34487: 3 = GM division = Oldsmobile; 44 = model series = 442; 87 = body type = holiday coupe

BF = assembly plant = Fremont CA

02163 BDY = Fisher Body number (has no relationship to the VIN)

TR 940 = interior color and front seat type = black interior with a bench seat

B80 = option code = exterior drip scalp mouldings

25 B PNT = lower body color (25) = astro blue; upper body color or vinyl top color (B) = black vinyl top

06D = time build code = June (06), fourth week of that month (D), 1970

493110 and 030023 are numbers unique to the Fremont assembly plant that no one that I know of has any information on what they mean.
