Anyone out there ever have any work done by Paul's Chrome in PA...chroming or trim straightening and polishing? I'm waiting on an estimate from them and am looking for referrals good or bad! How about price? Anyone else you would suggest? Needs to be top quality! Thanks in advance...the Vista needs your help!

 

Trim and chrome for what car??

What pieces of trim and chrome are you looking to have done?

They do very nice work and are very expensive. Consider the car before you spend the $$.

 

A '70 Vista...rear bump, taillight bezels, door handles, misc. small parts, straighten and polish a couple of body side moldings, drip rail moldings...has to be top quality...not sure of anyone else who may be reputable?

The name I see that keeps coming up as the best for chrome on the car forums is Tri City Plating in Tennessee. For stainless, G&L Metal Polishing in New Jersey. Don't forget that rear step cover piece, I have one that was done badly, they ground it so much it looks like a blob.
Vista Cruisers don't have that much stainless.

Paul's is absolutely the best -- and they know that, so you'll pay big $$ for the best.
I don't know about now, but there used to be a long waiting list to even get in.

 

well, if Paul's work is as good as their customer service, I'll have nothing to worry about. Total professional, friendly, great communication and fast with the estimate...just one issue...like many of you have said, expensive! About twice what we thought...guess we'll try some other places...

 

I saw one post and the guy said Tri-City wanted $460 for the front and $485 for the rear for a '72 Cutlass, 4-6 weeks wait. If you like them you could send them in and you could pick them up at Carlisle in the Spring in late April, a real good excuse to go.
But honey.....the gas would be cheaper than the shipping back... and they could get damaged.

That first stone nick would be a killer.

After you've been married a long time ideas like Carlisle become second nature.
My normal agent rate is 15% by the way, for you Erik... only 12.

 

I have used Tri-City a number of times. I started out using Wayne's and after a few years he retired and sold out to Tri-City. It is a good idea to pick up at Carlisle if possible because I had a front bumper done three times because UPS bent it in shipping TWICE. They used to give a lifetime guarantee but I don't know if they still do.
