1969 325 HP versus 350 HP 400 cu inch engine

Hi Guys,

Can someone explain the technical details of the difference between the 325 horsepower versus 350 horsepower 400 cubic inch engine? Cam differences, timing, carb, etc.

I am looking at purchasing a frame off 1969 automatic 442. I previously owned a 4 speed. Both cars had a 3:42 limited slip rear. But when I drove the frame off for a test drive I can feel the difference with the horsepower difference versus the 4 speed model. The 4 speed pulled harder. The horsepower difference was noticeable.

Also the M40 trans that is in the automatic is there anything different with that trans versus say an OW model?

Hope my request makes sense.

Thanks guys for your comments.

M40 is the code for a TH400. The tag on the trans (OW) would denote the calibration that the valve body has (among other variables) for that particular application.
