Fender difference?

What's the difference in fenders between a 70 and a 72? Was talking to a guy with glass fenders off a 70. Said they'd fit my 72 with no differences otherwise (still match up to grilles, hood, bumper, bezels etc). Can anyone shed any light on this please?

They fit the same 70-72. You are good to go.

When doing a correct resto 1970 fenders lack the impact crush zone ripples at the tops of the inner fenders that are seen on the 71-72 fenders. With fiberglass fenders none of that matters.

The repro fenders and the GM originals that were available in the parts system are all the 71-72 versions with the crumple zone dimples. This makes usable 1970 fenders highly sought-after by restorers who understand the difference. There is a thread from 2012 that has photos.
