Well at the most its $750 for a title at Broadway title. And thats not a salvage title. To me its no big deal for a car like this. Or really any car that i really liked. There are other options as well for getting a title. All legit. But you do have to consider that when buying. The extra cost, time.

This is a very specialized car aimed at a true Olds fan, thats who you want to pass it on too. If a guy says "looks sweet, ive been looking for a nice 4-speed muscle car to fix up" then thats not your guy. The guy youre looking for is "oh my god, a numbers matching 67' four speed 442! Check out that 400! Oh man look its still got the original rear end! Its so rust free, look at this and that.." if you literally have to PEEL the guy off the car, you know you've found your guy. The problem then is DO NOT try to squeeze that guy for money just because you know he loves the car. Remember, you need to be doing this for the CAR'S sake, not the wallet's sake.

And btw. If anyone says anything about what this car "would bring at the scales" then dont even let them on your property. No offense to anyone, but that is insulting to this vehicle. This is a long way from a parts car let alone a scrap car. Its not in great condition and has no title, but its a long way from a pile of metal, its a numbers matching 442. A true 442 at that, 4-speed 4-barrel 2-exhaust. None of that lame "im called a 442 but my auto transmission doesnt live up to the name" stuff.

If that perfect buyer doesnt show up then i entrust the safe storage of this car to F-85 haha. Id rather see it sit stored safely by an Olds lover than see an awesome car like this with amazing potential sold for parts or...i shouldnt even mention scrapped, its not even an option.

You just about nailed how i feel. The point of it isnt to squeeze every penny out of it. Just to find a value. Its a rare car that needs a good home. There is something about the "1 belters"! With the odd options this car has. The guy who ordered it wanted a HOT ROD. He ordered it bare bones minus buckets, radio, and heat. Thats just cool to me!

Im sure we will find the car a good home.

So maybe the seller should spend some time trying to get a title. I'd hate to have the VIN replaced with a State re-vin, that would ruin the car as well

My buddy is an retired cop. He ran the vin before buying the car. It was just a barn find with a lost title. Do some research online. As i stated above there are many ways to get a title. One easy way is Broadway title. Its $750 for a NON opt car, and cheaper if it is street legal.

"Too rough", or "just a bare bones 67" or "NO thanks!" are just a few things I heard. Obviously, they're not worthy, but if they were into it, 5k is too much.

Said the guy who never owned an old car. (and no an 80s car isnt an old car)

well if its that easy to get a title maybe he should get one - I know 750 in a normal economy is a lot for a car you are trying to sell, let a lone spending that today for something you are not going to keep but it would make it easier to sell. i guess as cool as this car is I would not want to see the car end up as a parts car or just sitting waiting for a title in someone else's garage. But,,,, its not my car to sell so in the end I respect what ever decision the guy makes.

Ya got me there. I haven't had anything "old" like that in over ten years.

But the ones I did own, that looked similar to that one, (less the rotten window channels), ran and drove, and were 400 bucks at the time.

Compensating for the last 12 years of inflation, it's still a $534 rig, with a -750 on it's title.

Thats a great point. And i agree. I did mention it to him last week. It would make it easier, and would help to keep as one pc. I think the plan now is for him to bring it home and start cleaning it up. Maybe after working on it some he will change his mind and keep it. Kinda like how i did with the other 67 442. LOL

Cool!
If I was your buddy, I'd have the matching pair of 67's together
A match made in heaven.

I'll bet they grow on him, and he won't want to have all that other junk laying around. He obviously likes beaters!

You and I both know how it is, going 10 different directions at once. Nothing gets done, or if it does, it doesn't get done 100% right.

Having 10 jalopys will just drown you. Having 2 67's that you eventually will know every last bolt on would be ideal!!
