to tell you the truth i think it is not true. i have a 1962 CSM that has that name signed inside it. i found a receipt from when the book was purchased and was mailed to the buyer in 87. the receipt said that the name in the book was a bigshot at Oldsmobile. i figured it was just something they made up but thought i would ask around. it is hard for me to believe a "bigshot" would have a CSM for himself. this day and age it seems as if a bigshot company man would just take the car to be serviced at a dealer and not need a CSM but i wouldn't know about 1962.

Several of my CSM's have the original mechanic owner's name in them, and the stuff I got from the Charlotte Zone Service Office has all kinds of names, company stamps etc in them.
You may have gotten one belonging to a Zone Service rep, but more likely it belonged to a dealership line mechanic.
