Where to buy a good quadrajet carb?

I'm tired of fooling around with this old Quadrajet which isn't correct for this car anyway. I'm wanting to stay with a Quadrajet but don't want to buy a Chinese carb. I have a spread bore Edelbrock Performer intake on the 403. Any suggestions on where to get a good carb?

There's some reputable rebuilders out there. Or you could try rebuilding one yourself. I'd suggest you create a parts wanted thread for the correct application carburetor. Then if you don't want to do it yourself have someone like John Hearld rebuild it. It may not be cheap, but that will give you a like new carburetor that's correct for your car.

In your best interest to state the model & year vehicle as a starting point of discussion.

Its a late 70s 403 in a 67 Vista cruiser if it matters. The 403s are pretty much all the same. I want a carb to work with the engine, not necessarily the car.

Bob Stone aka The Carb Doctor, in Line Lexington, PA. Do a google search, he’s easily found. I’ve bought carbs and had carbs done by him, for myself & customers. Top notch work & service.

John Herald Jr or Dave442. Both are on this site. John is easily found on Facebook. Not sure if they deal with the 403 carb, but if you don't need a specific model they both are good options.

The late 70's 403 carb is a great starting point with some idle circuit modifications. Exactly what my current carb is. They may require a core but building your current carb is a very good option.
