Wheels and tires

Anyone have a problem with this setup for my 72 Cutlass s before I hit the order button. Please don't try and sell me rims and tires I'm really just checking on the sizing making sure there a good fit. I do like the old school Crager and also wider tire and height in the back. Just a personal preference. Just double checking to big ? Too wide ? Wrong bolt pattern? Wrong offset, a little green when it comes to wheels and tires. Thx
Trying to paste my invoice here will try again

My head starts to hurt a little when I try and figure what all these numbers and measurements mean. Biggest concern is the size of the back P275 thx again

I hope that bolt spacing is a typo. All RWD Cutlii from 1964-1988 have a 5 x 4.75" bolt circle. I'd also be a little cautious of the -6mm offset on the rears. That will push the tires closer to the fender lip.

I haven't ordered them yet so everything can be fixed. These were the sizes I was given by a Jegs rep as he was talking with another guy. I want as deep a rim in the back as comfortably possible not looking to push the tire out. So the offset was misunderstood. The bolt circle will also get corrected. What is your recommendation for the old school look in looking for. I like wider and higher in the back with a deep rim which I guess would push the tire in not out then match the look in the front. Thx

That's exactly the problem. The "deep dish" look from the 1960s had lots of negative offset, which pushed the centerline of the rim and tire far outboard. That's why we all had air shocks and dangerous shackles.

if you want a deep dish, just get a 15x10 or 15 x9 for the rear.

Heres shots of newly acquired SS1s from Summit. The wheels are 15x7" all the way around with 235/60 up front 255/60 on rear.

I'd like to sit higher in the back, yours is even and looks really good but I like that aggressive looking junk in the trunk look not over done, but tastefully aggressive look. So would a 15x9 wheel and P275 back with a 15X7 P235 in front work or look ridiculous. I'm not looking for attention I have just the opposite personality, I don't do burnouts at car shows that look is just a preference. Old school cool like when I'm wearing my Winger shirt.

68-69 always look low in the rear compared to the 70-72 model.

Many guy run 235 60 15s up front and 275 60 15s out back. The 2" tire height difference crests the rake you are wanting. 275 60 15s look best on an 8" wide wheel.

Sounds like we have similar tastes. Old school, '80s teen' hot rod.

I'm looking at 295/50s on 15x10's with 5" backspacing for the rear of my '71.
I'd go with factory backspacing, and let the tires hang out, but I don't know how that look would work with a convertible....
Using a 4x4 and a couple of jacks, I found I need to lift the rear just about 2" to obtain the raked stance I want and tire clearance I need.

I have caught some flack, mostly from the 'performance/pro-touring' guys in town, about the way I want it to look.

Hell, if I had a hard top, I'd have side pipes too. (Metallica shirt.... LOL)
I just don't know if I could pull that look off too with my convertible.

to the best of my knowledge Cragar SS are still Unilug in 14" & 15", 5x4.5/4.75/5. Confirm this but you should be OK with that. Make sure you get the right lug nuts.

The Crager ss is unilug comes 4 3/4 so I'm good there so I'm leaning toward the Crager ss 15 X 8 rear maybe 15 X 9 with the P275/60/RS15 (not sure what the s is) and Crager ss 15 X 7 and P235/60R15 tires
Offset and backspace no idea all I know is I'd like a deep dish in the back which I guess is accomplished with the 15 X 8 wheel any reason I can't do 15 X 9

Sorry I never had Winger shirt. Think I got that from Family Guy or Bevis & Butthead. Had a Jeff Beck shirt, several Stones, Zeppelin, Areosmith, they were all those big iron on decals from Sound Odessey that would stick to your chest. I'm and old Funk music guy myself love those horns. Might be a cool thread though back in the day iron on shirts. Watch the motor heads and metal heads chime in. What the heck I'm layed up id like to see some of those posts.

Joe the Cragar SS rims have a unilug bolt hole that encompasses both 4x4.5 and 4x4.75 patterns. Might even be 5x5, but it's been almost 20 years since I sold them and I'm not 100% sure about that.

15x8 for the front backspacing 4.5" or 15x7 4"backspacing
15x9 for the rear backspacing 5" you can even go 15x10 with 5.5" backspacing.

Doc do you have stock springs on that? I like the look, and you have no rubbing issues with the 255's? I had 295/60's squeezed on to stock rims LOL... but I had to use air shocks, gone far away from that idea now.

I was thinking of these wheels, I was hoping to strip the gold paint off to make it look more like the vintage dazzlers with gold only on the inside of the spokes

Dazzler Wheel
Size: 15" x 8"
Bolt Pattern: 5 x 4.75"
Offset: -12mm
Backspacing: 4.02"
Gold w/Aluminum Face

That combo should be a perfect fit, the original back space is 4.75, you're only moving the rears out 1/4". You might look at 245/60's on the front, or 235/70's..

Stock 68 442 spec springs in all 4 corners. No rubbing front or back. Id call to verify that the Gold isnt powder coating verses paint.
