Whats it worth... BBO tunnel ram

Located a 455 engine with a single carb tunnel ram. He has not priced it to me yet but wants it out of the way and for me to make an offer on it. I told him it wouldn't be much because I can only buy it as a non running core. He said it has loads of aftermarket parts in it but from 20 years ago. I told him that will likely hurt the value more than help it. Who know what the parts are or what the quality of machine work was. I told him I would at least see what the intake was worth and I would offer him that much. He seams to be happy with that. Has sit for 15 years.

I actually watch out for those, i like the dual carb look, the dual carb versions seem to be atleast $400 on ebay and there are always plenty of bids. the single carb versions seem to be less desirable but dont pop up enough for me to say. there is also one on craigslist in my area and hes asking $400 bare without linkage or anything. Ive also seen them, dual carb, as high as $1000 asking price with carbs and linkage. I dont think i could bring myself to pay $300 for a bare dual carb, i guess thats why i still dont have one.

To me it's worth whatever the weight is in scrap aluminum but some people actually like those things for some strange reason. I would say at least a couple hundred to someone who is more interested in show than go.

LOL, I am to much of a purist to want one. In the late 80s I seen an OAI hood with a hole cut in it for one to stick out the top. I never understood that combo.

I purchased a new Offenhauser dual quad tunnel ram manifold and 2 new 660 Hollies back in the 80's... Sold the project car I purchased them for but kept the manifold and carbs... Still new in the boxes on the shelf waiting for the right new project vehicle......

Seem to more common on boats. I have two on the shelf. One from a boat guy that was into to look. Other from a guy who raced a long time ago.

Both were too cheap to pass up.

Def not for performance, but if looks are your thing why not. I don't see it any different than picking wheels or the color of a car.
