I'm replacing the lens on the cluster gages on a '70 W-31. I have the retaining ring off but for the life of me I can't get the ring/lens to lineup and slide under the crimped edges. Do I flatten out the two tabs or keep then slightly bent? Any suggestions.

 

I wish I could tell you what I did, but it was years ago when I pulled my gauges apart to clean them up.
